Eligibility Criteria for SBI PO Recruitment 2026 is divided in two parts Age Limit and Educational Qualification.

Age Limit

Candidates applying for SBI PO 2026 should meet the following age criteria:

Educational Qualification

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 30.09.2026. Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 30.09.2026. Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant etc. would also be eligible.

The selection process of Probationary Officers is completed in three-Phases.

It is a objective test of 100 marks, it has three sections and each section have separate time of 20 minute each.

(i) Objective Test: The duration of objective test is 3 hours and consists of 4 Sections of total 200 marks. There will be separate timing for every section.

  • Sectional Cut off in Main Examination: Each candidate will have to score a minimum qualifying score in each test / section individually. Depending upon the number of vacancies, sectional cut offs will be decided by the Bank.
  • Minimum Aggregate Qualifying Score: Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in Main Examination.
  • Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for Phase-III from the top of the category wise merit list subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score in Main exam, as decided by the Bank.
  • There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, 1/4th of marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score.

Psychometric Test: The Bank will conduct Psychometric test for personality profiling, of those candidates who will be shortlisted for Phase III process.
